Customized sauna control
This control panel is ubiquitous with Saunas manufactured by Helo, a british company. For safety reasons, the control panel features a timer that limits time in the sauna to about an hour, but interestingly, the timer knob has been removed and replaced with a toggle switch. Perhaps that is why the sign above the control panel reads, "please do not touch controls, ask attendant for assistance." Another thing that is kind of unusual about this panel is that it indicates that the light and heat circuits used different voltages. According to an imprint on the panel, the lights used standard 120V service, but the heater was wired to two hot leads in a split single phase configuration, providing up to 40A @ 240V.
I am COLD.
Our utility bill is out of control. I'm one of these people that could live in a sauna and I need to retrain myself - you know, to actually use my clothes to keep warm instead of electricity. So we still haven't turned the heater on this year - I want to see how good I can be by dressing warmer inside before we fire up the furnace. Jury's out.
Maybe this cold house is the reason I'm finding it hard to get out of bed in the morning.
